Our Story: Built by Friendship. Driven by Purpose.

Every great team has a beginning. Ours didn't start with a sponsorship, a facility, or a championship trophy. It started with a simple text message, a shared love for volleyball, and a group of friends who believed they could build something special together.

The VLA Warriors were founded by Kai Kamai, JP Rivera, Maikol, Marley, Jake, Victor, and Jean-Paul. They weren't brought together by contracts or recruiting. They were brought together by respect for one another, years of experience, and a desire to create a team that represented something bigger than winning.

What began as a handful of advanced players meeting to train quickly turned into something much greater. Friends invited friends. Those players invited more players. Word spread throughout the volleyball community that something different was happening in Central Florida—a team built on culture before competition.

Every practice became an opportunity to improve. Every workout strengthened not only athletic ability but trust. Every conversation helped shape the identity of the Warriors. Long nights, early mornings, countless hours in the weight room, open gyms, strategy sessions, video review, fundraising, community outreach, and endless planning all became part of the journey.

Today, that small group of friends has grown into three advanced Warriors teams, each preparing to compete in the Volleyball League of America (VLA) 2026–2027 season. Together, these athletes represent different backgrounds, different playing styles, and different life stories, but they all share one mission—to compete with purpose, represent their community with pride, and raise the standard of volleyball in Central Florida.

The Warriors have never measured success only by wins and losses. Success is found in the teammate who stays late to help another player improve. It is found in the friendships formed through hard work, the families who support every tournament, and the community that continues to believe in what the Warriors are building.

This is more than volleyball.

It is a commitment to excellence.

It is a commitment to intentional growth.

It is a commitment to lifting one another up on and off the court.

As the Warriors continue preparing for their inaugural VLA season, one thing remains unchanged from the very first practice: we are still a group of friends chasing a dream together. Only now, that dream has become a movement.

The foundation was friendship.

The process is hard work.

The future is the Warriors.

Together, We Rise.
