Every Journey Begins Somewhere: The VLA Warriors' First Step Toward Greatness at the 2026 USA Volleyball Adult National Championships
Every championship team has a story.
Not every story begins with medals, trophies, or a perfect record.
Some begin with uncertainty, sacrifice, long nights in the gym, and a group of athletes who simply refuse to quit.
For the VLA Warriors, our journey to the 2026 USA Volleyball Adult National Championships wasn't about proving we belonged to everyone else.
It was about proving it to ourselves.
As a brand-new organization preparing for our first season in the Volleyball League of America (VLA), we entered as a Tier 3 team. On paper, we were newcomers. We hadn't built years of history together. We weren't expected to compete with the nation's established programs.
But volleyball has never been played on paper.
It is played with heart.
It is played with preparation.
It is played with trust.
Months before stepping onto the court at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, our Warriors family committed to something bigger than simply playing volleyball.
We trained with intention.
We practiced relentlessly.
We lifted together.
We studied the game.
We challenged one another.
We celebrated every small improvement.
Most importantly, we became a family.
Every practice was another brick laid in the foundation of who we wanted to become. We learned one another's strengths. We learned how to communicate under pressure. We learned that success wasn't about one superstar carrying the team—it was about every athlete believing in the player standing next to them.
That culture became our greatest strength.
Then Nationals arrived.
Walking into the Orange County Convention Center for the USA Volleyball Adult National Championships is something every volleyball player should experience at least once.
The energy is impossible to describe.
More than 900 teams from across the United States filled the convention center, representing every level of adult volleyball. From the BB Division to A, AA, and finally the Open Division, the highest level of competition at the tournament, athletes of every age and background came together to compete for national titles.
That alone was inspiring.
Knowing we were competing in the Open Division alongside some of the country's best players made the experience even more meaningful.
Every match tested us.
Every rally demanded our very best.
Every point reminded us that there are no shortcuts at this level.
As a new Tier 3 VLA team, we found ourselves competing against athletes and programs with years of experience, many of whom regularly perform at what would be considered Tier 1-level competition. Instead of being intimidated, we embraced the challenge.
We learned.
We adapted.
We fought.
We trusted the work we had put in together.
Wins are wonderful.
Losses can be powerful teachers.
Nationals gave us both.
We discovered that pressure reveals character.
We learned how resilient we could be when momentum shifted.
We realized that the smallest details—communication, discipline, confidence, and preparation—often determine the outcome of a match against elite competition.
Perhaps the greatest lesson had nothing to do with volleyball.
It had everything to do with who we are becoming.
We watched teammates encourage one another after difficult moments.
We saw athletes celebrate someone else's success before their own.
We experienced the kind of chemistry that cannot be manufactured overnight.
Those moments reminded us that culture travels with you, no matter what court you're standing on.
The scoreboard only tells part of the story.
The real victory was discovering the identity of the Warriors.
We are resilient.
We are coachable.
We are hungry.
We are united.
We are just getting started.
As we continue preparing for our inaugural VLA 2026–2027 season, Nationals became more than a tournament.
It became our measuring stick.
Now we know exactly where we stand.
More importantly, we know where we're going.
The road ahead will include more training sessions, more film study, more weight-room workouts, more tournaments, more travel, and countless opportunities to improve.
That's exciting.
Because growth has never been something we fear.
Growth is exactly what we seek.
Our goal has never been simply to participate in the VLA.
Our goal is to compete.
To improve.
To earn respect.
To represent Central Florida with pride.
To inspire the next generation of volleyball athletes.
To build an organization where players, coaches, families, sponsors, and fans all become part of one incredible community.
Nationals was not the finish line.
It was the starting line.
The experience reminded us that greatness isn't reserved for organizations that have existed for decades. Greatness belongs to those who are willing to show up every day, work harder than yesterday, and keep believing in a vision long before everyone else sees it.
To every athlete wondering if they're ready...
To every coach building something from the ground up...
To every parent supporting a dream...
To every sponsor looking to invest in people instead of just programs...
We invite you to follow this journey.
The VLA Warriors are building something special, and the best chapters have yet to be written.
Our first Nationals taught us that we can compete.
Our future will be built on continuing to improve.
This is only Year One.
Imagine what Year Five will look like.
The climb has begun.
The foundation has been laid.
The journey continues.
Together We Rise.
